Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American artist and a sitarist is best known for her musical talents. She won the British House of Commons' Shield, which is the youngest and first female recipient. In addition to the nine Grammy awards She was also the very first Indian-origin musician to perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is one of India's most promising stars on the sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil as well as his daughter. Her birthplace was in London in 1982 and spent her early years shuttling from London in London and New Delhi. Her debut concert was in New Delhi at the tender 13 years old. In 1999, she completed her high school studies at Encinitas CA. Anouskha is still a young woman, however she's got an remarkable career in the field of singing and recording. She has been performing with her father on stage for several years. She released her first solo album Anourag in the year 1998. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Anoushka was able to gain numerous valuable experience as she traveled with her father on his world tour. The tour included appearances at Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concerts, as well as making recordings together with George Harrison. It is the House of Commons Shield was awarded to her by the British Parliament as the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the sole female and the youngest winner of this distinction.
